Ignite Technologies and Qumu Team Up to Provide Enterprise Customers a Comprehensive Solution for Video Lifecycle Management

- Combined Solution Fulfills Enterprises’ Demand for Choice and Flexibility in Content Creation and Distribution -

New York, NY - Streaming Media East - May 10, 2010 – Ignite Technologies, Inc. (Booth #220) the leader in providing enterprise content delivery solutions, and Qumu, Inc. (Booth #119) a proven innovator in rich media and enterprise video communications solutions, today announced an alliance to provide a comprehensive video and rich media solution for enterprises. Together, the solutions provide an end-to-end video platform for content creation and management, and enable enterprises to choose the appropriate distribution method, peer-to-peer or network-based.

Enterprise customers in various departments such as corporate communications, sales & marketing, HR, training and IT can benefit from the combined solution to securely create, manage and distribute video, rich media and other large files. The joint Ignite and Qumu solutions will help provide a complete video lifecycle solution for enterprises.

“This type of partnership is a natural step in the evolution of the fast-growing enterprise video market,” said Steve Vonder Haar, research director of Interactive Media Strategies. “Overall spending on business online video technologies will top $650 million this year and is expected to grow at a more than 20% clip through 2014. As demand for enterprise video continues to grow, more and more executives will be looking for integrated solutions capable of keeping tabs on video from the moment of its creation all the way through to its delivery.”

“Enterprise customers no longer face the ‘false choice’ of choosing only peer-to-peer or network-based distribution and management solutions. The combined Ignite and Qumu technology enables our customers to implement a solution that best fits their network architecture and employee requirements,” said Ray Hood, chief executive officer at Qumu. “Organizations can now leverage Ignite and Qumu’s technology to deliver content to branch offices and remote employees while integrating the content into desktop applications.”

“It is exciting to see vendors within the industry understand the strengths of their respective solutions and begin working together to provide video solutions that can truly benefit enterprise customers,” said Jim Janicki, president and chief executive officer at Ignite Technologies. “Qumu extends Ignite’s capabilities by adding content creation, management, and flexible delivery to our core offering.”

Components of the comprehensive Ignite and Qumu solution include:

Advanced Video Content Creation – Qumu Create and Qumu Capture Studio along with other rich media creation tools generate engaging desktop-based enterprise video and audio content in a wide variety of formats including Flash, Silverlight and Windows Media.

Media Lifecycle Management – Manage and assemble external streams, assets like encoders, integrate video conferencing and Telepresence along with employee generated content for live, re-broadcast, and on-demand viewing

Targeting & Distribution – Engage employees by targeting specific departments, geographic areas or other attributes. Apply additional security and content behavior rules such as content appearance and automatic content deletion. Deliver video and rich media content live, on demand or preposition to view at a scheduled time. Content can be delivered globally through the public Internet Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) or enterprise based CDNs while providing bandwidth efficient peer-to-peer technology that securely delivers content to branch offices or remote employees.

Customer Engagement – Video and rich media content is presented to the customer in many formats such as Microsoft SharePoint, existing corporate portals, Qumu’s Social Video Portal or through Ignite’s integration with Microsoft Outlook, and can be viewed on desktops, laptops, mobile devices, kiosks or digital signage.

Tracking & Reporting – Monitor content delivery, view rates, percentage of video watched. View graphs and charts of results from surveys or feedback requests attached to content.

The Qumu and Ignite solution is extensible via web services interfaces that provide enterprise customers with choice and flexibility.

Both Ignite and Qumu are exhibiting at the Streaming Media East 2010 Conference this week, May 10-12, 2010 at the Hilton New York.
