Ignite Delivery Technology
The mission of Ignite's Delivery Technology is simple: To identify and use the most secure and efficient routes for delivery based on the individual user needs and content delivery demands.
Ignite's Delivery Technology gives you unprecedented reach while leveraging your existing infrastructure, thereby delivering worldwide scalability on demand with no additional hardware, software, or bandwidth purchases required. Intelligent routing and delivery software ensures that your users experience fast delivery and access to content wherever they are, regardless of global or local traffic conditions. Multiple security barriers around your critical assets provide the most secure protection possible, making unauthorized content capturing, viewing, duplicating, or altering virtually impossible. Below is a brief overview of the key technology underpinnings of our platform.
Polite Background Delivery – patented technology providing the ability to deliver high volumes of large content to any end user over any network configuration at any size bandwidth connection without intrusion or disruption to the end user's overall computing experience.
Network Optimization – capability to optimize content delivery across any existing network topology to enable delivery of any size content with no detrimental effect on the network's availability or performance.
Intelligent Delivery Optimization – a customizable hierarchy of delivery options that determine the optimal source and path of content delivery for a specific end-user device. Key components of this technology include:
Source Optimization:
Managed Peer-to-Peer – a centrally-controlled and managed edge delivery feature that allows Ignite Delivery Centers to establish peer-to-peer relationships to pull content from each other or from designated localized content proxy/caching servers.
Dedicated Edge Relays – protocol and content caching servers used to create new or multiple points of distribution that are faster and physically closer to the final end users.
Network Groups – Ignite allows network administrators to define Network Groups and to assign Delivery Centers to a particular group. Settings can be customized for a single computer, a group of computers, or a whole company.
Path Optimization:
Network Bandwidth Optimization – the ability to dynamically measure and adjust bandwidth utilization in response to the quality of the connection.
Network Traffic Controls – network-centric protocols and other application logic used to dynamically reconfigure and adjust the content distribution path as clients' physical locations or network topology changes. Also provides for direct control of specific traffic paths or patterns to match the unique distribution requirements of the network in order to shape the content distribution path.
Device Resource Optimization – optimizes the end-user device to receive, display, and respond to content while using only constrained, latent, or available bandwidth.
Consistent User Experience – enables consistent, high-quality viewing and interaction with content, regardless of bandwidth availability, while maintaining fully "polite" delivery operations that are not intrusive or disruptive to the end user's overall computing experience.
Least-Cost Retrieval – the client Delivery Center's capabilities to determine the most efficient, "least-cost" route to obtain the content.
Security – Ignite protects your content during all phases–publishing, targeting, delivery, receipt, and use–through a multi-layer combination of encryption, digital signature, and DRM capabilities. Learn more »
